No, chrome pitting is not covered under warranty.
Wheel Pros always maintains the highest customer satisfaction levels in the custom wheel industry. In order to maintain these levels, the warranty on chrome plated wheels must be understood by the end user.
Wheel Pros warrants that chrome finishes will be free from peeling or lifting on the face of the wheel for a period of one year. For full warranty details please see our warranty policy: Warranty
Chrome pitting is not covered by any manufacturer's warranty. Chrome pitting is not the same as chrome peeling or lifting on the face of the wheel. Chrome wheel pitting is primarily caused by exposure to moisture, debris, brake dust, salt and the elements which can damage the thin layer of chrome and lead to corrosion.
Road salt and other ice melting products are particularly harsh, They can trap moisture which accelerates the corrosion of the chrome finish. When possible, chrome plated wheels should not be used in areas where salt and chemicals are used in winter weather. Run other wheels during winter months. If chrome wheels are driven in the winter they should be cleaned at least weekly. Chrome sealant is highly recommended for use on chrome wheels that are driven in winter.
Note:
The chrome warranty is not applicable if:
Damage occurred due to failure to follow completely the instructions provided in the Wheel Pros Consumer Information and WTC Aftermarket Wheel Installation Guidelines.
Corrosion or damage occurred due to improper maintenance.
Damage or structural failure occurs as a result of an accident or road conditions.
Damage or structural failure occurs as a result of improper use of the vehicle including, but not limited to, on and off-road racing.
Our chrome warranty only covers the face of the wheel and not pitting or peeling on the backside of the wheel. Proper attention should be paid to the backside of chrome plated wheels when washing.
If you're experiencing an issue with your chrome finish and believe your wheels are covered under warranty, please contact your dealer to discuss the problem.
